Alex Parks - The Way of the Wave [Vocal Mix]

A track featuring an undiscovered Alex Parks at age 16 has been sent to me by Lucy - more info found below:

>1996 saw Ian produce & write as Skynet UK a trance/club project) & signed to ultra cool London record label Whoop! Records. Skynet UK had vast successes, the track "Open The Floodgates" became on overnight club anthem crossing the dance music genres with DJ support from Pete Tong, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Judge Jules & the legendary Tony De Vit, to name a few! Many more tracks were to follow including the massive “Holdin’ On” “Clear Skies” & "Way of the wave" which featured at the time vocals from an undiscovered Alex Parks (Winner of BBC “Fame Academy”) Skynet UK songs have featured on Hollywood films such as 2001 “Just Visiting” (Directed by Jean-Marie Poire, featuring Christina Applegate & Jean Reno) and over 60 compilation CDs from Perfecto to Mute Records.

Alex no longer signed to Polydor

I've been away for a few days and when I get back I find out Alex isn't signed to Polydor anymore.
Here is the message Alex left on the official forum on the 8th February 2006

 Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that I'm no longer signed to Polydor as of now. It wasn't really working for me or for them (as you  could probably tell). Although I am sad and there were a lot of good people there who really did their best for me and I will miss  them, it's definitely time to move on.

A lot of you have asked if I'm disappointed with the way my record releases have gone and of course I am. I've had almost no  support from the media - hardly any coverage on the radio and TV or in the press and whether that's because they don't like my  music, or they don't like me, or maybe because I came from a reality TV programme - I don't know.

I'm proud of my first proper album and I'm so glad that you guys have reacted to it so well. All I want to do now is to develop my  writing and recording and hope that every record I make will be better than the last.

I'm going to take a break to work out the next step: there are a few offers but I really want to get it right this time! I promise that  you will be the first to know my new plans.

The best part of the last few months for me has been the live gigs - thanks to all of you who have come along to them and I hope  you enjoyed them as much as me.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday - it will be the last gig for a while and I promise it  will be a great night....

 lots of love

 Alex
